DeLaval’s long term vision for Biosecurity & Animal Health

Biosecurity and animal health are important strategic development areas for the future. The goal is a combination of in-house research and development, licensing and joint ventures with initial focus on generics.

DeLaval has developed a considerable aftermarket product line which forms an important part of total revenue. Animal health products and consumables in farm hygiene and milk quality areas contribute a substantial part of that revenue. Biosecurity products have recently been added to the offering.

“DeLaval is really forward-looking in this area. One alternative would have been to outsource these products because they are expensive to maintain for compliance with different legislations around the world but we chose to continue our investments and become a major player in this field,” says Tim Nicolaї, Vice President Business Area Aftermarket & Services.
