Our OceanBlu™ range was recognised for its effective teat care and pathogen control, particularly against mastitis, a common issue for dairy farmers. This dual-function pre- and post-treatment spray offers advanced cleaning and pathogen control, promoting better teat health and reducing the spread of mastitis-causing bacteria.
The jury awarded OceanBlu™ the Gold Award based on the following reasons: “Good udder health is one of the most important animal health factors for economy and sustainability in milk production. Protecting the teat against damage and infection is an important part of success. In connection with milking, the teat canal is opened and can admit microorganisms. By combining a disinfecting effect with a barrier function, the OceanBlu™ product family can be used both as a pre- and post-treatment teat spray. Its blue colour makes it easy to check that all teats have been treated correctly. This is especially important for robotic milking systems, where it represents a significant improvement over previous products.”
Moa Hagelberg, Market Solution Manager, Cluster Solution MQAH, DeLaval, says: “We are thrilled that OceanBlu has won gold at the Elmia Innovation Award. DeLaval is such an innovative company, and it’s exciting that we’ve introduced a new solution for udder hygiene with OceanBlu. This award allows us to really highlight the importance of udder health, not only for improving animal welfare and milk quality but also for supporting the farmer’s economic sustainability.”
The Gold Award win was announced on 17 September through an official press release from Elmia, with the award ceremony scheduled for 17 October at the Elmia Agricultural Fair.
DeLaval’s Plus Behaviour Analysis system was also recognised as a nominee.
