2021-02-19 PRESS RELEASE FROM DELAVAL

”You can really feel the passion and commitment from all colleagues”

Edouard Alix, Cluster Solution Manager AMS & Cooling in EMEA, shares his story from his time in DeLaval.

“In this role I have the chance to work with a great team and try to facilitate the communication between each entity. For me, I could easily define the key to success with ‘collective intelligence’. With many people coming together and working towards a common goal you can achieve much more than working individually” says Edouard.

Edouard grew up on a dairy farm in France and worked on several large farms in the UK, Canada and USA as a teenager. He spent his summers on large farms harvesting crops, driving tractors and milking cows in large parlours. “My main drivers have always been, and still are, agriculture and new technology. The main reason that I am so glad to be working at DeLaval for so many years is that I can combine both my passions in the same role in the company. As a robotic specialist, I can combine the farm management and new technology”, Edouard adds.

Since graduation, Edouard has worked his entire working life at DeLaval and during these 20 years he has held several different positions. He started as a Product Manager in France, focusing on the French market.

When asked if he has a memory that sticks out from his time at DeLaval, Edouard answers, “I am so proud to have been part of the VMS™ V300 launch team. Launching a new robot required a lot of effort and alignment. The main challenge was to synchronise all teams in order to deliver the project on time – and on budget. I was so excited when I visited the V300 test farm and was really impressed by the performance that was delivered on that installation.” Edouard continues, “The whole journey was a fantastic experience, both personal and professional, and I can only thank Group Management and the other colleagues for the trust and great discussion throughout the project. After two years, I can confirm that we made some great choices during the launch and I am happy to see the current sales figures of the new VMS™ generation. It meets the customer expectations and help our clients manage daily challenges.”

After 20 years, what are the best things about working for DeLaval according to Edouard? “Passion and trust are the take-home messages”, he says. “In the company, we have different profiles and backgrounds, but we all share the same passion – ‘we live milk’. Across all teams, you can really feel the passion and commitment from all colleagues. Despite your age or background, you have a great possibility to oversee a small or large project, and that is built on trust. We have the chance to work for a modern company and we have great digital tools in place to support our customers and dealers”, says Edouard.

“DeLaval is a large company with more than 4,500 employees, but the organisation allows for a lot of initiatives and have an agile and reactive structure. Recent organisational changes allowed for new ways of working and sometimes it feels like I work for a start-up. This new setup makes our company more efficient and attractive for new talents to join DeLaval”, Edouard concludes.

Thank you, Edouard, for your commitment and passion for your work and DeLaval! Looking forward to seeing what you and your team will do for years to come!
